The four aces are shown and dealt face down on the table. Each is then covered with three indifferent cards. Without any suspicious handling, the four aces are shown to have assembled in one of the groups of cards while the other three groups are shown to consist of only indifferent cards. The effect is repeated twice more, with all cards always within full view of the spectator.
